CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Caring for Your Hurricane Lantern

Our Hurricane Lamps are handmade from glass and crystal, making them delicate and requiring careful handling.

  • Allow the lamp to fully cool before cleaning to prevent breakage.

  • Clean the interior with a soft sponge, lukewarm water, and mild detergent. Rinse well and dry with a lint-free cloth.

  • Avoid sharp objects, harsh chemicals, excessive polishing, or dishwashers.

  • Do not expose to extreme temperature changes, such as cold outdoor air or draughty windows.

  • Ensure the candleholder is placed on a stable, level surface.

What Candle Should I Use?

We recommend paraffin or wax candles, as they have a higher melting point than stearin and work best in semi-enclosed spaces.

  • Use the correct size of tealight or pillar candle and place it centrally, and never let the candle burn all the way down to avoid cracks

  • To remove wax, soak in lukewarm water with mild detergent for 10 minutes, then gently remove with a wooden spoon or sponge.

  • Never touch or move a lit candle.

  • For stability on slippery surfaces, use self-adhesive pads underneath.
